The newly formed Cannabis Law Committee will host its kickoff CLE on May 26, 2020.
The CLE will be virtual, starting at 2 pm – 3:15 pm.
The CLE will be conducted by Jennifer R. Johnson and Paul D. Anderson. It will cover a wide-range of topics related to cannabis law in Missouri.
There are no medical marijuana dispensaries open in Missouri yet, but over the next nine months we will see numerous dispensaries open for business.
The total number of qualified patients and caregivers in Missouri exceeds 50,000, and that number is expected to increase substantially after the industry is up and running in Missouri.
The industrial hemp industry is also on the rise following the 2018 Farm Bill on both sides of the state line.
These changes can have an impact on many different areas of practice, extending well beyond attorneys who practice criminal law, or those who are providing direct representation to the industry.
The purpose of this program is to assist attorneys across various practice areas in identifying circumstances where the legalization of cannabis may impact their practice, whether that practice involves family law, criminal law, construction law, employment law or providing counseling to business clients who deal with the cannabis industry.
It will help you “issue spot” when cannabis issues touch your practice, and will provide a review of basic information you should know about cannabis and the law as it has developed through 2020.
